“Art Entries: Original artworks in any medium are invited. Artwork must be recent work of the artist and shall not have been pieces shown previously in Selwyn.
Conditions of Sale: All entries must be for sale and must stay on display for the duration of the exhibition.
Categories: There are four categories for artwork:
(1) Hung Artwork: Two entries per artist
(2) Three dimensional & other works: Three entries per artist
(3) Miniatures: Four entries per artist
(4) Jewellery: Five pieces per artist (all jewellery will be displayed in cases)
Maximum size of artwork: Artwork must be no greater than 95cm wide x 150cm high including frame. Diptych and Triptych combined mounted area must meet this limit. Maximum size of miniature: painted area to be no greater than 8,000 sq.mm (e.g. 80mm x 100mm).
MCAC will refuse works that exceed these size limits.
Prints and photographs must be numbered as one of a series.
Insurance: While every care will be taken, MCAC or its members accepts no liability for any loss or damage. Insurance during transit and at the exhibition is the sole responsibility of the artist.
Display: All artwork must be dry and suitably presented for display. Hung work must be complete with cord. D rings with cord are suitable for hanging.
Note: Please NO eyelets or protruding fittings. Any specific instruction regarding display should be attached to the artwork.
MCAC will refuse works that do not comply with these conditions.
Labeling: Name, phone number of exhibitor, title, medium, and selling price must be printed on the back or securely attached to the exhibit.
Selection: The Malvern Community Arts Council (MCAC) reserves the right to select entries. Non-compliance of conditions will result in rejection of work. The decision of the Artweek Committee is final.”

Entries open: The Feilding and District Art Society 2023 Art Awards
“Terms and Conditions
The entry fee of $20.00 (incl. GST) applies for each artwork entered into categories 2, 3, 4, and 5. All funds must have cleared by the entry deadline to guarantee inclusion in the exhibition.
A limit of four artworks may be submitted by each artist, with no more than two entries per category.
Artworks must be submitted ready for display. Works to be hung should have D-rings and string positioned no more than one-third down the frame or canvas.
Freestanding artworks must be suitable for display on a plinth (no floor-mounted work) and be accompanied by any supports or stands required for presentation.
Any specific installation requirements should be included in the application form. The Feilding and District Art Society will adhere to these where possible, but may be limited by wall or floor space.
All artworks must be original, made in the last 12 months and not previously exhibited in the Manawatū. Images used without the copyright holder’s permission, or produced in a class, are ineligible for display.
All artworks must have a clearly-printed swing tag securely attached to the back, detailing:

Couriered entries must be delivered in re-useable packaging with return postage paid. If suitable return packaging is not provided, it will be the artist’s responsibility to arrange an alternative method of collection.
Whilst the Society will take all reasonable care when handling artworks, it is the responsibility of the artist to insure their work.
Artworks submitted for the Art Awards must remain at 104 Manchester Street, Feilding, for the duration of the exhibition.
Artworks submitted for the Art Awards will be sold exclusively through the Feilding and District Art Society. During the exhibition, these artworks cannot be available for sale elsewhere.
The Society reserves the right to photograph and reproduce artwork images and artist biographies for promotional purposes before, during, and after the exhibition.
The Feilding and District Art Society collects commission on all artwork sales: 30% for members of the Feilding and District Art Society and 40% for non-members. Artwork pricing must include commission.
Artwork sales will be communicated on the last day of the month in which the work was sold, and net sales proceeds debited into the artist’s nominated bank account by the 20th of the following month.
All taxation and GST liabilities are the responsibility of the artist.
All unsold artworks must be collected at 4pm on October 31. The Feilding and District Art Society takes no responsibility for damage or loss to artworks collected after this date.
The Feilding and District Art Society reserves the right to sell works on layby. Where this is the case, artists will receive payment for net sales once the artwork has been paid for in full.
All works accepted for display will be eligible for prize monies. Judges reserve the right to not award a prize in any given category.
Judges’ decisions are final. No correspondence will be entered into.
Prize monies awarded at the opening ceremony will be debited into winners’ bank accounts on the next business day.
The Feilding and District Art Society reserves the right to exclude from display any artworks which: Cannot be accommodated due to inadequate wall or floor space; Display themes or images which it deems offensive.
Any artwork not compliant with the Terms and Conditions will be rejected with no refund issued.
Youth Award - Additional Terms and Conditions:
Entry to category 1, the Youth Award, is subject to an entry fee of $5 (incl. GST) for each artwork entered. All funds must have cleared by the entry deadline to guarantee inclusion in the exhibition.
The winner of the Youth Award will be required to submit a one-page essay within one month of receiving their prize, to be used for promotional and accountability purposes. The essay must address how the recipient intends to use their funds, and the expected impact of the prize on their creative practice.”

Public Art Panel - Expressions of Interest
Tauranga City Council are seeking Expressions of Interest for panelists to sit on the newly reformed Public Art Panel.
Tauranga City Council has a bold and ambitious new city vision and strategic framework for Public Art. One which embraces partnership and recognises the role that art and artists play in creating thriving communities. Over the next ten years the city will undergo a major transformation, which will include the development of a new Civic and Cultural precinct, Te Manawataki o Te Papa.
The new Public Art Framework will support the commissioning, development, gifting and maintenance of artworks which are located on Council-owned sites. This includes integration of artwork into the planning of key Tauranga City Council infrastructure and civic projects. The Framework prioritises external partnerships for the creation and funding of artworks, and builds capacity and expertise within Tauranga City Council, the local creative sector, and the community.
To support Tauranga City Council on the realisation of their vision, the Public Art Panel will be made up of industry-leading professionals who provide independent, professional assessment, advice and recommendations to Tauranga City Council.
The role of the Public Art Panel:
Be an advocate and champion for Public Art in Tauranga.
Discuss and provide expert advice to Tauranga City Council on significant Public Art initiatives, at all stages of development and implementation.
Assess Public Art Proposals based on the Assessment Criteria, and identify areas for improvement early in the concept, design and delivery process.
Make funding recommendations for internal and external projects to the Public Art Fund.
Participate in the development and annual review of the Public Art Master Plan priorities.
Provide Council officers with advice on commissioning processes and artist selection methods, consistent design advice, clear direction, and confidence in their delivery and reporting.
Make recommendations on current works which should be removed and/or re-sited.
The Panel will meet up to eight times a year, Members will serve a term of three years, although this can be reduced or extended in the first instance, to ensure timely succession. Panel members will be remunerated for their time spent preparing for, and in, Panel meetings. When selected, Panellists will need to comply with the Public Art Panel’s Terms of Reference.
Tauranga City Council is looking for applicants that have more than one of the following desired qualities:
Expertise and proven experience in commissioning, creating or curating Public Art.
Expertise and proven experience in commissioning, creating or curating ngā toi Māori within public spheres.
Sound knowledge of the history and/or landscape of Tauranga.
Sound knowledge of the narratives of mana whenua.
Expertise in Urban Design, Architecture or Landscape Architecture.
Expertise in arts management.
Governance experience, particularly within an arts, culture or heritage institution.
Funding, sponsorship and philanthropy experience, particularly involving arts, culture and heritage.
Well connected in the Bay of Plenty.
