We established Glass Art In NZ (GAINZ) to support and encourage collaboration and sharing of information among everyone with an interest in Glass Art in NZ – artists, makers, suppliers, buyers and sellers. The prime goal – to help grow a strong glass art industry in New Zealand, where everyone gains.
GAINZ provides a Facebook community group for open discussion and sharing of information and resources by members – membership of the group is open to anyone with an interest in Glass Art In New Zealand. There is also a public Facebook page for information that may be of interest to the general public – such as public glass events.
Behind GAINZ is the husband and wife team Scott & Catherine (Kate) Cornwall. Kate runs her own glass art business – Red Hot Glass, and has also performed volunteer work for the NZSAG (New Zealand Society of Artists in Glass) executive committee, as Editor of the NZSAG monthly newsletter and on the committee organising the hugely successful Colab Conference in Whanganui -a combination of the NZSAG and Ausglass conferences and bringing several established glass artists from around the globe to New Zealand.
GAINZ is independent and not affiliated with NZSAG, but supports the society and all other glass art groups in NZ to meet our prime goal of a strong glass art industry in NZ.
