Claire Bell

Trained as a painter and glassblower, Claire moved into engraving to explore the possibilities of the image within the object, creating three dimensional drawings within glass. Combining and exploring the possibilities of the second and third dimension in new and creative ways is the driving force behind her practice.

Silver Screen: How do we see ourselves and spend time in the moment? Engraving and silvering are a slow process, expanding the time spent creating and image of an everyday kiss into a form of slower contemplation for maker and viewer.
